Sample time is seconds
I limit the total sample time to 5 seconds.
Remember: .au format is 8012 1-byte samples per second
.snd format is 22050 2-byte samples per second.(44100 bytes per second)

You can get the sound back immediately (good for Netscape) or have the sound acessed via a button in a page with some technical information about the sound.
